About Ashtead

Ashtead, covering the KT21 postcode, has a history stretching back to Roman times — Ashtead Common was the site of a substantial Roman brickworks operating in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, and later medieval tile production. St Giles' Church dates from around 1115, while Ashtead Park House, completed in 1790, is now part of the City of London Freemen's School. Six surviving cast-iron coal-tax posts, once marking the boundary of the Corporation of London's tax jurisdiction, can still be found around the village. Ashtead railway station opened in 1859 and the village grew substantially afterwards, particularly once the Ashtead Park estate was broken up for housing in the 1880s; today Ashtead Common (181 hectares) and Ashtead Park (54 hectares) remain two of its largest green spaces.

Ashtead is in our Zone 2 delivery area (KT21 postcodes) — next-day delivery from £9.95 when you order before 1:00 PM, Tuesday to Saturday.
